St Oswalds Anglican Church (1935), Monash, Riverland, South Australia
Monash - a soldier settlement named after the innovative Australian General of the First World War - is a small town well known for its rural engineering works. The firm invested in a children's playground with unique equipment built with bits and pieces from the works. It was long a favourite of children - mine included - but enjoyable for adults too. Unfortunately the litigation scare of a few years ago got the better of the insurance premiums so the metallic equipment was taken away and replaced by standard plastic stuff - still fun but lacking the interest and challenge of the original. St Oswald's has a pleasing neatness.
