Greenock - Barossa Valley, South Australia.

There is some controversy over the naming of Greenock. However it dates to about 1840 when mining operations began nearby. Today it sits just off the main interstate highway to Sydney. The absence of traffic has left it as a quiet little town with a village-y feel. I particularly like the area around the centre of the town where the pub, Post Office and Institute can be found. The town appears integrated into the Barossa wine-growing district these days and there are signs of prosperity. The houses up the hill to the west have a nice view over the valley.
