The Aldinga area has been farming country since the early days of white
settlement. The town was laid out in 1857 by James White. In more
recent times, the area became a popular seaside destination for family
holidays. These days it seems to be taking on the character of an outer
suburb of Adelaide. Its historical nature still shows in a couple of
fine churches.
